In 2013, CRM strongly focused on growing the pool of qualified investigators & clinical sites nationwide and helped equip them with the necessary skills & resources. CRM also strengthened ties with industry players by facilitating their processes & activities and worked with regulators to improve the clinical research ecosystem. These initiatives played a major role in attracting new ISR to Malaysia, enabling CRM to exceed the official targets set for the number of industry sponsored clinical trials registered and conducted in Malaysia. Moving forward, CRM intends to expand its coverage to include more private hospitals and universities as well as utilize the experience gained in 2013 to fine-tune its strategies that have proved successful, with the goal of accelerating the development of a thriving ISR industry in Malaysia. The building blocks towards this end are already well in place and we welcome the global industry to discuss with us on how they can tap into it.
